Sun Simulator
In Sun Simulator you play as the Sun, or do you? It's a cozy stellar object simulator with multiple (2 lol) endings. This game is my entry for the Cozy Spring Game Jam 2026, and there is nothing more cozy than playing a massive star bringing warmth to friendly little planets. I tried to limit myself to only 2 colors which gives a game a very retro, nostalgic and cozy (at least if the colors are warm) look.
The theme of the game jam was Shifting Reality, why does my game fit into the theme? First of all, it was hard to spot, but the sun does not work exactly like displayed in the game, there are a few nuances that diverge from the real sun. The other part is the secret ending. Later in this text it's explained on how to unlock it. But you get a hint after playing through the 3 levels.
AI disclosure:
I used no AI for the art and for code. Everything is 100% human crafted.
If you want to know how to get the secret ending, here is the SPOILER:
- You have to heat earth in level 1 to over 500°C.
The game is written with Parin, a game engine by Kapendev in the D programming language. The full source code can be found on my Forgejo instance: code.weissstreifen.eu
